How do you clear a hotel room when you can’t light a smudge stick? This is how I do it.
I was traveling across the country last week and staying in a hotel. It’s always a good idea to clear the energy of a hotel room you are staying in. There can be quite a build-up of energy where so many people are going in and out.
It was a non-smoking room so I couldn’t light a smudge stick. For this trip, I decide to try the doTERRA ClaryCalm Oil because the first ingredient is clary sage. I’m not connected to the doTERRA brand. If you’ve used this oil before or you sell this oil please let me know your experience with it.
This doTERRA blend is actually specifically for women’s health. It says on the bottle it’s for symptoms of PMS and transition into menopause. But like I said before since clary sage was the first ingredient I knew it would work to clear the hotel room.
The doTERRA ClaryCalm oil comes in a 10ml size vial (about 1/3 of an ounce) with a plastic roll-on applicator. It seals pretty well if the lid is on tight. Since I was taking it on the plane it had to be with my other liquid ingredients in the quartz size zip lock bag to get through airport security. After the pressurize plane trip the bag smelled like sage but there was no spillage.
The scent is sage-like even though this is actually a blend of oils. It was a bit more floral than pure sage oil which actually smells quite woodsy. With a lot of sage oils and sprays, there’s a perfumey smell. But not with this doTERRA sage oil. It smelled like a high quality distilled essential oil blend.
In the blend, there’s lavender oil. Lavender (which comes from the Latin word meaning “to wash”) is great for clearing energy. There’s bergamot which has an orange scent and is often used for attracting success energy. Next is Roman chamomile which can be used for purification and protection. This blend contains cedarwood which is said to protect health and home. There’s some ylang ylang in this oil blend which is often used for physical well-being. Finally, it contains Geranium, Fennel, Carrot Seed, Palmarosa and Vitex.
With the roll-on applicator, this oil is quite easy to apply to myself but I wanted to clear the room also. So I first cleared myself by applying the oil using the roll-on applicator to my neck, wrists and the bottoms of my feet. I could feel the difference immediately like a weight had dropped away from my shoulders.
Then to clear the room I didn’t want to remove the roll-on applicator ball so instead, I took a piece of memo paper (supplied by the hotel) and rolled the oil on to it. Then I waved the now scented paper around to disperse the sage essence. This worked. I could feel the difference in the room. I left the paper out to continue to diffuse the scent into the room.
Overall, I’m quite happy with this oil. I’m not sure of the price point as it was a gift. But it was really effective and because of its small size, it was easy to travel with. I recommend this ClaryCalm oil if you’re traveling and need to clear the spaces you stay in.
